Attendance: Please arrive early and in appropriate dress for the class (see dress code). If you miss a class you may "make-up" in another age appropriate class within 30 days. Please call if you will be missing class. Students may not miss more than 2 classes in the session before a performance.

Assessment: Dancers will be placed in the level of class appropriate to the dancer. This will be done at teacher discretion. Assessments will be done all throughout the year. After the age of 8, age is no longer a factor but ability. We know that people move at different paces. Please trust that we are doing what is best for your child. Directors say is final. Ballet is REQUIRED for jazz, modern and lyrical above the beginning level.

Parent Observation:  We ask parents of young children to wait in the waiting area or close to the premises. If you are dropping your child off please be prompt in picking them up. There will be opportunities for parents to watch.

Please label all articles of clothing and shoes. Defying Gravity is not responsible for lost items.

Cancellations: We will not close for bad weather because school is closed. We will assess the weather around 1:00 and will decide then. If you are concerned please call. There will be plenty of notice and you be able to make up those classes. Saturdays if weather is bad please call the studio before you leave. We will try to get to everyone as soon as possible.

Make sure we have emergency numbers. If you are leaving the premises we need to know how to contact you.

Late fee: Payments are due the first week of class. We accept cash, checks, VISA, and Mastercard. There is a $15.00 late fee if paid late. (If you are absent the week of payment please pay the next week, on the 3rd week late fee will be applied.)

Payment by Check or Credit: There is a $25.00 charge for returned check or declined credit card.

Costumes: There will be a costume fee for recitals or other performances. Costumes for Junior classes and Combo classes will either be ordered or kept as simple as possible. Parents are responsible for cost of costume. Older dancers costume will either be ordered or rented from Defying Gravity Dance Studio.
